: Questions for whoever might know the answers:

: If a court case cites a quote from, say, a judge making a statement
: about another court case, for example, from "Campbell, 114 S.Ct. at 1171,"
: can I cite that directly or do I need to go find the case itself somewhere
: separately? Where would I go for that? Is that the correct way to
: footnote? Etc. etc.

good question. Im a cs professor, not pre-law, so
i never cite law cases unless they are so famous
like REID or PAPERBACK SW or STACKER,
that they have big web spaces devoted to them.

maybe the library has access to WESTLAW? Does
anyone have a class in american studies and can
ask a prof there?

You can cite the judge citing the case.

Judge Judy (2/8/99), refering to "Campbell 114 st" said
blah blah

and in your references

Judy, Judge (1999), "Judge Judy Show Feb 8th", Hollywood: Fox TV
